Bridging Healthcare & Community
One Connection at a Time
As Needed. When Needed. For Better Care.

COMMUNITY IMPACT
Through education, advocacy, prevention, and community engagement, PRN Connect is committed to strengthening health literacy, expanding access to care, and empowering communities across Virginia

In collaboration with the Virginia Commonwealth University Police Department, RISE for Youth, CenterWell Careers, Master Center for Addiction Medicine, and AddictionVA, PRN Connect helped support National Drug Take Back Day in Richmond on April 25.

Through this collaborative community initiative, 42 pounds of unwanted and expired medications were safely collected and removed from circulation, helping reduce medication misuse, prevent accidental poisonings, and promote safer communities through proper medication disposal.
Breaking Language Barriers
As a Romanian-speaking individual, navigating everyday English and understanding healthcare information has often been challenging for me. PRN Connect has always been willing to dedicate their time to help translate prescription information, assist with appointment scheduling, communicate with my insurance company, troubleshoot medical concerns, and even sit alongside me during a three-hour psychiatric evaluation. Their support has helped me feel understood, supported, and more confident navigating the healthcare system. I am incredibly thankful for PRN Connect for always answering the phone and being there whenever help was needed.

Naloxone Distribution
&
Overdose Prevention
In partnership with the Virginia Department of Health, PRN Connect shares the common goal of increasing naloxone access for all Virginians through education, awareness, and harm reduction initiatives. Through this partnership, PRN Connect helps distribute naloxone at no cost to community members, helping expand access to life-saving overdose reversal medication and supporting efforts to reduce opioid-related deaths across Virginia.

Education
&
Prevention

PRN Connect is committed to strengthening community awareness through interactive education and prevention initiatives focused on substance use, alcohol safety, opioid awareness, and harm reduction. Through educational flyers, hands-on activities, games, and community engagement, we work to make health education approachable, engaging, and accessible for individuals of all ages.

In collaboration with the Virginia Commonwealth University Police Department, PRN Connect participates in community events such as Open Mic Nights, where music, karaoke, and conversation are used as opportunities to educate attendees about the effects of alcohol, marijuana, and opioids on the body, brain, and mental health. These initiatives aim to encourage informed decision-making, prevention, and open dialogue surrounding substance use and community wellbeing.
